Cover Supervisor Required

33hrs a week (5 days)

Term time + 1 week

Scale E (hourly rate £10.41 – £11.27)

To work across this complex needs school in all departments and subject areas with particular focus on supporting children with complex behaviours.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Cover Supervisor  to join our successful and happy staff team. The successful candidate will be required to cover teaching staff absences across the school (from medium term plans).

The successful candidate will:

  • have experience of working with children and supporting their learning
  • have strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • have the highest expectations of children and support them to achieve these
  • be a team player, think on their feet and show initiative
  • understand the importance of safeguarding in all aspects of school life

It is likely that the successful candidates will be required to work with pupils with challenging behaviours (from age 7 – 18) for which training will be provided.

Payscale will be on Teachers Main Pay Scale relevant to successful candidate’s current grade and with an SEN Point.

Required to start 1 September 2021 in this 7-17 age special school for pupils with complex learning needs.  The school currently has 172 pupils on role.

We are looking for qualified teachers with a clear understanding, or deep interest in, teaching early literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum to pupils with a range of complex needs.  The successful candidates will need a Primary skill set ideally, but be able to relate to older pupils.

A calm, child centred, patient disposition is essential.

We have a happy and caring family ethos, where everyone is respected, and staff and students have high expectations of themselves and others.
