The partnership started when the Headteacher, Mr B Payne, visited Namibia and, particularly Mupewa School as part of the Leadership Exchange from National College of School Leadership (NCSL) and Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO). The management link has worked effectively for over a year with the Mr Angala visiting Parkside Special School in November 2009.

The link continued in October /November  2010 when Parkside Curriculum Coordinator, Mr Bob Holderness visited Mupewa as part of a British Council Reciprocal Visit Initiative. The focus of the visit was to set up a Water and Sanitation Curriculum Project to allow learners to study particular issues in each country and region.  In May 2011, the Deputy Headteacher , Mr Fanuel Ndeulita made the return trip to the Uk. During his visit, Parkside School suspended the normal timetable to concentate on water related activities. Details of these activities can be found under the British Council Water Project link.
